Dealer Shipping & Charge Card on File Policy
Dealer Shipping & Charge Card on File Policy
Please review the information below before placing a dealer order. This page explains our dealer shipping thresholds, how free shipping is determined, and how our Charge Card on File option works.
Dealer Shipping Is Based on Order Value
Dealer orders are subject to shipping unless the order meets the applicable free-shipping threshold for the dealer’s current tier.
Free shipping is determined strictly by the dollar value of the individual order and the dealer’s pricing tier.

What Is a Mixed-Brand Order?
A mixed-brand order is an order containing products from any brand other than Sky High Car Audio that we sell.
The free-shipping threshold is based on the total qualifying value of the individual order.
For example, a Tier 1 dealer could place an order containing:
- $800 in SHCA products
- $4,500 in other brands
- $5,300 total
Because the total order value exceeds $5,000, the order qualifies for free shipping under the Tier 1 mixed-brand threshold.
A dealer does not have to purchase SHCA products at all to qualify for the mixed-brand threshold. For example, a Tier 1 dealer ordering $5,000 or more of other brands can qualify for free shipping based on the total order value.
Order Qualification for Free Shipping
Free shipping is determined based on the entire individual order, not on individual products or portions of an order.
If an order contains only Sky High Car Audio products, the applicable SHCA-only threshold applies.
If an order contains products from another brand, the order is considered a mixed-brand order and the applicable mixed-brand threshold applies to the entire order.
For example, if a Tier 1 dealer places an order for:
- $1,000 in SHCA products
- $500 in another brand
- $1,500 total
The order does not qualify for free shipping.
Although the SHCA portion meets the $1,000 SHCA threshold, the order contains another brand, making it a mixed-brand order. The $5,000 mixed-brand threshold must therefore be met.
We do not split an order into qualifying and non-qualifying portions for shipping purposes.
What Does “Free Shipping” Cover?
When an order qualifies for free shipping, Sky High Car Audio covers the standard shipping portion of the shipment.
For standard parcel and ground shipments, additional delivery fees are extremely uncommon. However, freight shipments may incur carrier-imposed fees or accessorial charges that are not included in our free-shipping program.
These may include:
- Liftgate service
- Limited-access delivery
- Residential delivery
- Other applicable freight surcharges or accessorial fees
These charges remain the responsibility of the dealer.
For freight shipments, free shipping applies to standard business-to-business delivery. Any additional services or accessorial charges requested or required by the delivery location are not covered.
How Shipping Is Determined
Shipping costs are not a fixed amount.
Depending on the order, shipment, destination, size, weight, and shipping method, an order may ship by:
- USPS
- UPS
- FedEx
- Freight carrier
- Another carrier or service selected by Sky High Car Audio when appropriate
Sky High Car Audio will select the shipping method we determine is the safest and most efficient way to get the order to the dealer, unless an expedited shipping method is requested.
Because shipping costs vary by shipment, there is no universal or static dealer shipping charge.
Paying Shipping at Checkout
When available, dealers may pay the estimated shipping cost during checkout.
Our checkout system calculates shipping based primarily on the weight and characteristics of the order. For many orders, the shipping amount provided at checkout will be an accurate estimate of the shipping cost.
For larger, oversized, freight, or otherwise unusual orders, the checkout shipping calculation may not always provide an accurate cost or may not provide an estimate at all.
In these situations, the Charge Card on File option may be used.
Charge Card on File Option
The Charge Card on File option allows a dealer to place an order without paying the shipping cost upfront.
When this option is selected:
- The order is processed and shipped by our warehouse.
- We determine the actual shipping method and final shipping cost.
- We wait until the final shipping cost is available.
- The applicable shipping charge is processed to the same card that was used to pay for that specific order.
- The shipping charge is generally processed within 2–4 weeks after the order ships, although it may occur sooner and, in uncommon situations, may take longer.
Important: Selecting Charge Card on File Authorizes the Shipping Charge
By selecting Charge Card on File, the dealer is authorizing Sky High Car Audio to charge the applicable shipping cost to the payment card used for that order.
We do not contact the dealer for approval before processing the shipping charge.
The amount charged is based on the actual final shipping cost, not necessarily an estimate shown at checkout.
For example, if a dealer places an order on September 1st and selects Charge Card on File, the order may ship immediately, but the final carrier invoice may not be available until later. Once the final shipping cost is received, that amount will be charged to the card used for the original order.
This is why a dealer may see a shipping charge on their card days or weeks after the original order was placed.
Why Was My Card Charged When I Haven’t Placed a Recent Order?
If you see a shipping charge from Sky High Car Audio even though you have not placed an order recently, the charge may be associated with an earlier order where Charge Card on File was selected.
Shipping is charged after the order ships and the final shipping cost is known. As a result, the shipping charge may appear separately from the original merchandise charge and may occur weeks after the original order date.
If you have questions about a charge, contact us with the charge amount and we can identify the associated order.
Shipping Examples

Any applicable freight accessorial or carrier charges remain the dealer’s responsibility.
Example 2 — Tier 1 Mixed-Brand Order
A Tier 1 dealer places a $5,300 order consisting of products from multiple brands.

Example 3 — Tier 1 Order Does Not Meet Mixed-Brand Threshold
A Tier 1 dealer places a $1,500 order containing:
- $1,000 SHCA

Example 4 — Tier 2 Mixed-Brand Order
A Tier 2 dealer places a $7,800 order containing products from several brands.
Result: The order qualifies for free standard shipping because the total order value exceeds the $7,500 Tier 2 mixed-brand threshold.
Example 5 — Tier 3 / Distributor
A Tier 3 / Distributor dealer places a $12,000 order consisting entirely of SHCA products.
Result: The order qualifies for free standard shipping because it exceeds the $10,000 Tier 3 / Distributor SHCA-only threshold.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to purchase SHCA products to receive free shipping?
No.
For a mixed-brand order, the free-shipping threshold is based on the total value of the order. A dealer can place an order consisting entirely of other brands we carry and qualify for free shipping if the applicable mixed-brand threshold is met.
Can I add a small amount of another brand to an SHCA order and still receive the SHCA free-shipping threshold?
No.
If an order contains products from another brand, it is considered a mixed-brand order. The applicable mixed-brand threshold must be met based on the entire order value.
Does free shipping mean I will never see a shipping-related charge?
No.
Sky High Car Audio covers the standard shipping portion when an order qualifies for free shipping. Additional freight accessorial charges and applicable carrier surcharges are not covered.
These additional charges are extremely uncommon with standard parcel and ground shipments but may apply to freight shipments depending on the delivery requirements.
If I select Charge Card on File, will someone call me before charging my card?
No.
Selecting Charge Card on File authorizes us to process the applicable shipping charge to the card used for the original order once the final shipping cost is known.
When will my card be charged?
Typically within 2–4 weeks after the order ships, once the final shipping cost is available. It may be sooner and, in uncommon circumstances, may take longer.
Which card will be charged?
The card used to pay for the specific order will be used for the applicable shipping charge.
Why don’t you know the shipping cost when I place my order?
Shipping costs can vary significantly depending on the final package dimensions, weight, carrier, destination, and shipping method.
Some orders can be accurately calculated at checkout, while others—particularly larger, oversized, or freight shipments—may require the actual carrier cost to be determined after shipment.
Can I pay shipping upfront instead?
In many cases, yes.
If the checkout system provides a shipping estimate and you prefer to pay shipping upfront, you may do so.
The Charge Card on File option is available when shipping is not paid upfront or when the checkout shipping calculation is unavailable or does not appear accurate.
Will I be charged shipping more than once?
Shipping charges are processed based on the final shipping costs associated with the shipment.
If an order requires multiple shipments, shipping costs may be charged separately based on the applicable shipping costs for those shipments.
Do I need to do anything after selecting Charge Card on File?
No.
Simply selecting the option authorizes the applicable shipping charge. Our warehouse will process and ship the order, and the shipping cost will be charged once the final amount is available.
